7th grader Emma Damschroder goes to Wantz Middle School and has been interviewed and selected as a People to People Ambassador to "Experience Europe."
Emma is looking for sponsors to help defray the cost of her trip. A website to advertise her experience and keep family/friends updated has been set up here. What is unique is that Emma, as well as other family members, is dyslexic. She has spent 3 years in private tutoring and has had to overcome many obstacles and work very hard in school to be on honor roll.
She is well liked by her peers as well as her teachers and enjoys school. Her dad is a local minister in Miamisburg, while her mother is an Intervention Specialist in Fairborn City Schools. They all would appreciate the support of Miamisburgians in Emma's quest to be a proud reflection of her community and her hometown.
Let's all pitch in. She'll even send us postcards! Visit her website here.
Many thanks, i think......to Dan Schlegal of Great Miami Outfitters for passing along this tidbit.
I say "thanks, I think" because now I have an itch, near over-whelming desire to buy, or start saving for my very own Kayak.
There's a great little video at the jump. Click and have fun.
Thanks to an outstanding donation from DP&L......downtown Miamisburg basks in the glow of the holiday spirit. Thank you DP&L for your generous community spirit.
The weather cooperated all day, and our fair city was host to 1000's of motorcycles, and MULTIPLE thousands of visitors.
You can see some of the evidence of the day's festivities at the Thunderburg.com website, with photos showing how the venue changed throughout the day, as well as photos too of the visiting BudLight girls.
