FROM THE MIAMISBURG SCHOOL BOND CO-CHAIRS:
DICK CHURCH AND DEBORAH PRESTON
Dear Parents,
You want the best for your child – and that begins with the best education you can provide. You want safe, welcoming school buildings, equipped with the best resources and the space that allows your child to focus on learning. Research shows a positive link between schools with a good physical environment and student achievement.
Your vote of YES on Issue 33 is essential. It will solve the problems of overcrowding, modernization, security and safety for Miamisburg City Schools for the next decade. Here are just a few issues we are facing that have a direct bearing on your child’s school experience:
-
Every Miamisburg School is at capacity or seriously overcrowded. For instance, the high school is 445 students over capacity; Bauer Elementary, 246.
-
Twelve trailers house 24 classrooms to cope with overflow
-
The district is growing by 2% every year
Miamisburg City Schools have proven to be careful with the funds you provide. Fourteen school districts in our area pay higher school taxes, yet we continue to achieve recognition for providing quality education, including five years of “Excellent” ratings.
Passing Issue 33 will eliminate the trailers, resolve capacity issues, keep fifth graders in their neighborhood elementary schools, raise the student capacity of the high school to 2,000 students…and much, much more.
Your vote – and the vote of every parent in our school system – will ensure the passage of Issue 33! If you have not registered to vote, please do so. We are happy to provide registration information; just call 866-3381.
Join us in voting YES for the future of our children. It may be one of the most important steps you take for your family’s future.
